Happy to try, but how should I do it? Shall I use the Ubuntu kernel source,
apply the 6 patches to it, build and install the new kernel? Or is it possible
to build the DRM moules outside of the kernel tree, using the DKMS or similar
framwork?

Pointers are most welcome as I really would like to see a fix to this
particular problem.
