I believe the problem is due to the xserver-xorg-video-ati. AFAIK I am running
the radeon drivers. They stopped working when I upgraded to Ubuntu 9.10
(Karmic).

The version in Jaunty (last one that worked) was:
1:6.12.1-0ubuntu2

The version in stock Karmic (the first one that showed the issue for me) was:
1:6.12.99+git20090825.fc74e119-0ubuntu2

The current version running on my system is:
1:6.12.99+git20090926.7968e1fb-0ubuntu0tormod

I'm not sure where the issue started happening or even if it is the ati drivers
(Karmic switched a lot of video related things that I don't completely
understand). Please let me know if there is any more information that I can
provide to help solve the problem.
