RS4xx chips are not avivo based so you need to use radeontool rather than
avivotool.  They are both in the same repo:
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/~airlied/radeontool

when your system is working:
(as root) ./radeontool regmatch '*' > working.regs
after resume when your system is not working:
(as root) ./radeontool regmatch '*' > broken.regs
