Testing with latest Fedora rawhide rpms (the ones from koji, kernel-2.6.29-118,
xorg-x11-drv-ati-6.12.2-9) i still get the white screen on startup. However if
i close the laptop-lid and open it again the screen displays the right content,
vt-switching also works. Dont know if this helps to isolate the problem.
