Metamodes are from the old mergedfb support in the radeon driver.
That has since been replaced by xrandr 1.2 support, so that option is
no longer relevant. The problem is that ctrl-ali-+/- is not xrandr
aware, so it doesn't know how to deal with multiple heads.
