Please attach your xorg log (/var/log/Xorg.0.log) and config
(/etc/X11/xorg.conf) files.  I suspect the problem may be AGP related.  Does
the system work if you add this option to the device section of your config?

Option "DRI" "False"

if so, remove the DRI option and try this:

Option "AGPMode" "x"

where x = 1 or 2 or 4 or 8.

Let me know which number(s) work.
