Kernel has to boot with nomodeset. Without the nomodeset the DVI port is black.

With monitors on both port VGA (monitor can do 1600x1200) and one on DVI port
(monitor can do 1920x1200 x 60hz).

Initial startup into text mode, both monitors show mirrored text.
Starting X via startx, VGA monitor shows desktop, DVI monitor shows black
screen.
Desktop thinks it streaches across both monitors.
