I tried radeonhd driver and the HDMI output works better thank with radeon
driver.
I can enable and disable HDMI output and the picture of Laptops LCD display
still OK.
The only problem it is using too high resolution (1920x1080) that degrade the
performance (with Compiz it is slow, without Compiz it is tear free, but
somehow not so continous - CPU utilize around 40% for the two cores)
xrandr output for HDMI output (it has different name than in radeon driver)
DVI-D_1 connected 1920x1080+1440+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
708mm x 398mm
1920x1080 50.0*+
720x576 50.0
640x480 60.0
Audio is not redirectable to the TV however it is possible to select "Audio
device: ATI Technologies Inc RV620 Audio device [Radeon HD 34xx Series]" but no
audio output in this case. Should I report it as a bug? I attach the logfile of
radeonhd driver.
