Are you referring to the term bitrot as in
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitrot#Problems_with_software ?

If so, then I would assume that this is a bug in the XAA code in the X server?
Perhaps because development is going towards EXA and XAA is kind of being
abandoned, left to "rot" and this bug is an example of this degradation?

What should be done? I'm interested, please.
