I'm not sure what you're getting at... you can use Xv or XSHM with EXA just as
well. Also, the textured XVideo adaptor integrates properly with compositing.
Not sure how to select it in kaffeine though.

Can you attach one log file each from EXA with RenderAccel off and from XAA?
It's weird that those two cases would behave differently...

Also, you're saying the problem only occurs with compositing? With kwin, does
it only happen with the OpenGL backend or also with XRender?
