Hello all,

01:00.1 Display controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV535 [Radeon X1650
Series] (rev 9e)
Subsystem: PC Partner Limited Unknown device 0851
Flags: bus master, 66MHz, medium devsel, latency 32
Memory at cf9e0000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=64K]

and have been using the latest (as of a few days ago) DRI, Mesa, and ATI driver.
3D works well (2800 FPS in glxgears), Compiz *almost* works (white
screen), but I have another problem.
When my server boots, all F1-6 TTYs are working fine.
The moment my X server starts, trying to switch to them just cause the
monitor to go to sleep after a few moments.
I can return to F7 fine though.
I've tried killall -9 agetty to restore them, as well as telinit q
Nothing seems to recover them.
Which is obviously a pain :)
Is there anything I can do to fix this?
