Hi Alex / Adalbert,
I cloned the ati driver git repo, verified Alex's commit was in place and then
used autogen.sh --prefix=/usr; make; make install to apply it into
/usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers.

Unfortunately, the monitor is still exhibiting the bleached out (washed out)
look.
