Can you attach the log with the monitor attached?

does the following combination work?

xrandr --output LVDS --off
xrandr --output VGA-0 --mode 1024x768
xrandr --output VGA-0 --auto
xrandr --output LVDS --auto

Does switching between XAA and EXA help (Option "AccelMethod" "EXA")?  How
about in combination with Option "ColorTiling" "false"?
