Summary: screen flickers after text tty/vt is entered
Product: xorg
Version: unspecified
Platform: x86 (IA32)
URL: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-
video-ati/+bug/175243
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: NEW
Severity: major
Priority: high
Component: Driver/Radeon
AssignedTo: xorg-driver-ati at lists.x.org
ReportedBy: mk144210 at bcm.edu
QAContact: xorg-team at lists.x.org
I was asked to report from upstream (Ubuntu). Tested on
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/XorgOnTheEdge package
Xorg.0.log.1:6.7.197+git20080103.c6522088-0ubuntu0tormod, problem still exists.
In short, any switch to a text VT (Ctrl-Alt-Fn or even just stopping X server)
causes flicker (vertical refresh?) which then persists after any other VT
switches. Makes X pretty much unusable. Did not exist in 1:6.6.3-2ubuntu6
(Feisty Fawn version).
I will post new Xorg.0.log here. Much more info at the Ubuntu bug report which
is at the URL above. Let me know if you need something else.
