I've tried on Ubuntu Intrepid 8.10 Alpha 4 and haven't had much look;
it's failing to open AGP so disabling DRI.

(It's also giving me a completely white screen if Compiz is on - but I guess
that might be separate).

I've added a comment to the Ubuntu tracker of my matching Ubuntu bug; this is
on a Tyan S2460/Dual athlon 760MP with Radeon R100QD/7200 - others may have
more look.
