AFAIK this "powerplay" feature is not yet implemented. I would
appreciate if it would appear soon in the open source drivers as I think
it is an important feature for notebooks. My unthrottled radeon card
consumes much more energy and makes much more noise so I have to use
fglrx (which still doesn't work with xserver 1.5)

Perhaps some developer could tell us if and when we can expect the
powerplay feature?
