Artifacts when playing DVD's

I'm using a Radeon 9250 with FreeBSD 7.0, Xorg server 1.4, and 
Radeon driver 6.8.0

When using the Radeon I get strange artifacts with DVD's as well as 
with files like avi's.  There are several vertical lines spaced 
across the screen, and they are composed of green dots.  They show 
up more prominently depending on the coloring of the scene.  In 
some scenes these lines do not show up at all.

Aside from this issue, the quality is crystal clear.

I have narrowed this issue down to either the driver or the card 
because this does not occur when using the onboard card with the 
generic vesa driver (this setup has issues of its own, the video 
tears, but there are not green dots).

Any else experiencing something like this?
