your log looks fine.  I think this is configuration issue.  the default virtual
size for your chips 1600x1200 which won't fit a 1680x1050 mode.  you'll need to
add a virtual line to the display subsection of the screen section your config
to allocate a large enough desktop:

Virtual 2704 1050
