Summary: Too high brightness/gamma with ati 6.7.195
           Product: xorg
           Version: 7.3
          Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)
        OS/Version: Linux (All)
            Status: NEW
          Severity: major
          Priority: medium
         Component: Driver/Radeon
        AssignedTo: xorg-driver-ati at lists.x.org
        ReportedBy: corecode at fs.ei.tum.de
         QAContact: xorg-team at lists.x.org

After updating to Ubuntu 7.10 = xorg 7.3, ati 6.7.195 the brightness (or gamma)
is way too high on my LCD. This is a desktop system. Playing with xgamma
helps a bit, but contrast is still barely existing. Reverting to ati 6.6.3
(from git) fixes the problem.

I tried bisecting in git, but most of the time I can't start X then (no screens
found or blank/powered off screen)
