Summary: Latest radeon driver ( 6.7.194) hangs on AGPFastWrite
Product: xorg
Version: 7.2
Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Driver/Radeon
AssignedTo: xorg-driver-ati at lists.x.org
ReportedBy: mvanross at inf.ed.ac.uk
QAContact: xorg-team at lists.x.org
After installing the latest radeon drivers for the radeon
(Fedora 8 Test3). X started to hang requiring a reboot.
I was able to narrow it down to
Option "AGPFastWrite" "1"
Indeed the Xorg.0.log says that it is a dangerous option,
but it is a bit annoying because the earlier driver worked fine with this
option.
I'm not sure which version that was; just the default Fedora 7 one.
This is an IBM t42p with 9600 fireGL card running Fedora 8 test 3
