I'm bothered by seeing this kind of thing in Xorg.0.log using 845G on Mandriva
2008 and OpenSUSE 10.3 (where DPI always comes out to 96 no matter what
resolution or screen size is used):

...
(**) intel(0): Display dimensions: (361, 270) mm
(**) intel(0): DPI set to (144, 192)
...
