Hello,
I run since some monthes the above chip (ChipID is 0x5653) with
Xorg 6.8.2 (in FreeBSD 6.0R), to make it work I had to insert
Option "MonitorLayout" "LVDS, CRT"
as also stated in
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xorg/2005-October/010517.html
Yesterday I've updated the laptop to FreeBSD 6.2R wich brings
Xorg 6.9.0 but using the same xorg.conf file did not worked in
the resolution of 1280x800 anymore, it claimed that it could
not use 1280x800 because hsync would be out of range. It took
me a while to understand that this message about 'hsync out
of range' was about the CRT and not the LVDS. As a wild guess I just
removed the CRT from the Option as:
Option "MonitorLayout" "LVDS"
and it came up with 1280x800.
Any comments on this? Is this a bug or do I understand something
wrong?
Thx in advance
matthias
