You probably also need an AGP driver. From what I see in the kernel
source, the possible ones on ia64 are hp-agp (HP ZX1 chipset AGP
support), i460-agp (Intel 460GX chipset support) and sgi-agp (SGI TIO
chipset AGP support). Do you have any of them in lsmod? If not, try to
modprobe all of them and restart X.

If it doesn't work, send us dmesg after modprobe all these drivers, and
also the complete output of lspci -n.
