Summary: New regions flash black before displaying contents.
           Product: xorg
           Version: git
          Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)
        OS/Version: Linux (All)
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Driver/Radeon
        AssignedTo: xorg-driver-ati at lists.x.org
        ReportedBy: nigel at nigel.suspend2.net
         QAContact: xorg-team at lists.x.org

I've just updated to current Xorg git, and everything works well (thanks for
your great work!) apart from the fact that when a new region (if that's the
right term) of the screen is drawn, you see a black flash before the contents
are drawn. This is most noticeable when opening menus, but appears everywhere.
I briefly tried using a composite window manager and didn't see the same effect
(as I expected), but since this is an RS480 lappy, I have to wait for the
textures-being-misrendered bug to be fixed before I could really treat that as
a workaround. I'd love to give you a screenshot, but am not really sure I could
hit printscreen fast enough. Instead, please just imagine opening a menu and
briefly seeing a big black rectangle of the appropriate shape before the
contents appear :) I'm assuming this is Radeon specific - I don't know for
sure.
