hallo,

I'm using an HP nx9005 laptop with the builtin ATI Technologies, Inc. Radeon
320M (RS200 IGP)

the LCD works fine out of the box, while I have problems with the VGA output:

with ubuntu 6.06/xorg 7.0 I could drive an external LCD 1280x1024 monitor (but
with some image instability and flickering).
if an external monitor was connected, X was displayed on it, and the LCD
remained blank, otherwise X was displayed on the LCD, with correct settings in
both cases.
I wasn't able to run mergedFB

windowx XP drives the same monitor without instabilities, and is also able to
extend the desktop on both monitors.

after the upgrade to ubuntu 7.04 (xorg 7.2), xorg detects the external monitor,
and X is started, but the monitor remains blank.
the monitor menu shows the correct resolution and vrefresh are sent to the
monitor

this happens with 2 different, know-working, external monitors

attached the configuration and the Xorg logs in the three cases (2 external
monitors and the LCD builtin panel)
