Yes, although it might also make sense to try the current master and
ati-1-0-branch heads.

Did you try the server-1_1-branch? Maybe we could help you get past the
errors if you posted them.

Some ideas:

      * Build 6.6.2 against xserver-xorg-dev 1.0 and see if that works.
      * Look for any differences in the log files.
