Hi Folks
X Window System Version 7.1.1
(II) ATI: ATI driver (version 6.6.3) for chipsets: ati, ativga
Its a Debian system using the debian Xorg packages.
I have a Radeon 9200 PRO bases card which has a DVI and a VGA port. Im
using it in mergedFB mode. That all works fine :-)
On the DVI port i have a Philips 180P2 LCD monitor which supports DVI.
On the VGA port i have a Philips 180B2, which is just plain old VGA.
The DVI works great until the screen save kicks in and blanks the
screens and then turns off the monitors. When i move the mouse, the
monitor come back to life. The VGA screen is fine. The DVI screen
however is not. It is showing a clone of the VGA screen. Using the
menu's of the monitor i find it is showing the Analogue DVI input. If
i change this to the Digital-DVI input i get the correct screen
displayed.
My uneducated guess is that during unblanking the analogue DVI signal
comes back to life first and the monitor sync to that. For some reason
this is setup as a clone of the VGA signal. A little later the Digital
DVI signal comes back to life, but the monitor already has a signal it
likes and does not change to the digital one.
There does not appear to be a way to configure the monitor to always
use the Digital DVI. So, is it possible to disable the analogue DVI
output from the card? I don't see anything about this in the radeon
man page.
