<p>Since the advent of compositors I've been waiting for one that can make windows transparent to root - so I can run nice screensavers in root and see them..</p>
<p>Compton lets one use a glsl shader that makes a keycolor transparent (e.g. black).  This works, but i want the transparency to root window, not underlying windows.</p>
