xkb help

Hello developers,

I've been playing around with xkb, and managed to put a map together that
works with setxkbmap:
https://github.com/bjohas/Ubuntu-keyboard-map-like-OS-X

However, I'm struggling to turn this into a map that can be selected via a
GUI (say in Xfce or gnome etc).

Would somebody possibly be willing to chat about this? It would be
super-helpful!
