Going through the xserver code (and a handful of searches) shows no
users of the path/files outside of the server itself.

If there are none - I'd just keep that information as internal, and
drop this patch. Alternatively we really want to enforce the actual
path in xkbcomp.
Otherwise it's a problem waiting to happen.
