Hello,

Would it be possible to use XDG Base directory [1] instead of creating 
yet another dotdir in $HOME?

Using `~/.config/xkb` (with the `~/.config` prefix configurable via 
XDG_CONFIG_HOME) would be more consistent with the rest of new Linux 
applications.
