Just to let people know my plans here, I'm planning to keep 1.17.x
alive at least through the end of the year. I'm not making any effort
to pull in changes in quartz or xwin since I don't have any real way to
test them, but if the respective maintainers want to push fixes that's
great (or send me a pull req, or whatever's easy).

I'm planning to kick out a 1.17.3 once I dig through all the glamor
churn. That will probably be in the next week or two since I've got a
big chunk of vacation coming up in September. If people would prefer
something more time-based than just "whenever ajax thinks there's
enough to justify a tarball" we can probably come up with something
predictable.

Once 1.18 comes out I'm happy to start up a stable branch there too,
although if someone else wants that branch I certainly won't stand in
the way. Once 1.18.x branches I'm going to require that backports land
there before they land in 1.17.x.
