[PULL] Build fixes for MinGW

Hi Keith,

A few patches to fix building Xserver using the MinGW-w64 toolchain.

I'm not sure what the status is of releasing 1.18, so I can resend this after that is done, if you prefer.

Please consider pulling into master.
