No please. Evdev is not one size fits all all, and the *BSD
developpers don't want to be forced to implement an evdev
compatibility layer and pay the price for that extra level on non
Linux systems.

no one except linux kernel developers have control on the evdev
"standard" so without beeing deeply involved in the lklm process, it's
impossible to have any influence on the design before it's actually
committed and pushed out by Linus.
