fwiw, wacom always uses evdev for USB devices. For older serial devices
it depends on whether inputattach is in use or not. The driver still has the serial
parsing code so the device may be /dev/ttyS0. Rather a corner-case these
days though, there aren't that many serial devices around and at least in
Fedora we use inputattach by default.
