I don't think we object to holding copyright, just haven't gone out of our way 
to acquire any.   At some point we should probably consider a copyright 
assignment policy/process to accept copyright from those who wish to donate it,
but I don't think we'll actively request or require that.

Keith or Jim would know best, but I believe almost all of the X Consortium 
copyrighted material was actually written by the employees of the Consortium,
since they hired engineers & doc writers, unlike the current Foundation, which
doesn't have the budget to do such things, nor the desire really.

Actually it is a corporation (in the process of getting officially certified as
a non-profit corporation), but we don't use the Inc. suffix, so yes, I'd say
"X.Org Foundation".   (And we did decide at some long ago point that the 
organization name includes the "." and a capital O, while "Xorg" refers to just 
the X server we produce.)
