I admit I don't have a full overview of the docs around, some of them will
have slightly different requirements than others. However, since the
modularisation the two things that are expressive enough are the version of
the respective module and it's relase (e.g. libX11-1.4.0) and the release
date.

The majorversion of 7 is pretty meaningless and the minor is partially
meaningless since we have releases that don't end up in a katamari. So if in
doubt, I'd just go with the module name + release version and add the
release date for those that don't know by heart when version x.y was
released.
