Yes, I'd seen that, but people shouldn't have to google to understand a
commit message, and that abbreviation could simply be replaced by the
word "build" and be just as accurate and more understandable without using
any more characters.   (In our source trees, the only possible build is a
build from source.)

Even better would be describing the actual problem solved, since "fails
to build" is a generic description that would appear dozens of times in
a ChangeLog.

If you look at the commit logs for similar changes in the X.Org modules,
you'll see more unique/descriptive summaries, such as:

    Explicitly depend on libICE since ICE functions are called directly
