Xfbdev fails with "no screens found"

  Hi all,

I'm trying to use Xfbdev on an embedded linux device with a monochrom 
LCD display. However, the command returns the following error:

Fatal server error:
no screens found

I have the device nodes for the framebuffer device (/dev/fb0). On closer 
inspection of the code, it seems this error is generated because 
screenInfo.numScreens has not been initialised. But I can't work out 
where this parameter gets set.

Any ideas?

Using xserver_xorg-server-1.7.5
with kdrive/fbdev
