quick survey in the room shows that except for one HP, all the dells and
thinkpads here have three buttons. And that HP joystick announces itself as
PS/2 mouse, so it has a hard-coded middle button anyway.
I don't doubt that there's plenty of devices that may need it, but they're
in the minority and configuration is rather easy these days.
