We (Gentoo) plan on skipping 1.8.x entirely in our stable branch (DRI2
bugs and all) and going straight with 1.9. Since we've only just begun
shipping 1.9, another 1.7 release would be very much appreciated and
I'll gladly put it in Gentoo.
