[PULL] xkb geom patch, XTS crasher

Keith, 

please pull the two changes below. Dirk's fix addresses the xkbcomp errors
we've been seeing since 1.7 (if not longer). The second change is AFAICT the
last crasher bug for the XTS (but they seem to be breeding).
