right, this is a strong argument. So a Sunday work discarded :(

this is ... ugly! Do the server (or any kind of software) really needs 
this kind of guarantee?

Anyway, I'm still missing this on the specification... but we really 
want this? Sounds a good candidate for the list of X12 requirements on 
the wiki page.

can be done. So, seems you've being favorable with the removal as well, 
but want to keep this only due protocol spec. Do I get it right?
