Yep, for ARM-Cortex A8 users that sure sounds enticing, but I am on a PowerPC 
platform (without Altivec, that is) ;-)

But I think there is still quite something that can be gained by optimizing 
bit-blitting outines in kDrive-fbdev for PowerPC. PowerPC is a platform that 
is quite sensitive to all sorts of optimizations.
