xf86-input-mouse signed/unsigned issue with Microsoft protocol

Then what is the 'correct' way to get it to work? I used the binary
downloaded via debian.org for the PPC and it shows this problem. So is
it a bug with the way debian builds it's binaries? I can 'make' it
work by rebuilding differently, but I didn't think I should have to do
that, I prefer to use a distribution binary.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
