Lots of good fixes here people; thanks much for your hard work in
tracking down patches and getting them integrated.

This marks the start of the critical bug-fix window for 1.14; please
make sure you indicate what bug you're fixing with patches from now
until 1.14 ships (scheduled for March 5).

Sorry for the post-LCA delay here; I've been running this code for a
couple of days now and haven't found any show-stopping problems.
