My X server is frequently crashing with the error
"WaitForSomething(): select: Invalid argument". There has been a
previous report on this issue in which the suggested action was to
upgrade the synaptics driver (<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext"
href="http://lists.x.org/pipermail/xorg/2013-May/055680.html">http://lists.x.org/pipermail/xorg/2013-May/055680.html</a>).
I am already running a significantly newer driver than the user in
that report was, as I'm using 1.7.4.<br>
<br>
The crash happens frequently, and mostly random. However I am able
to reproduce it on demand by launching the HipChat client. As soon
as the app finishes loading and goes to display the main window, X
crashes with the mentioned error.<br>
<br>
I have attached the Xorg.0.log from a crashed session. I have also
attached a packet capture of HipChat talking to the X server so you
can see what it's doing to cause the crash.<br>
<br>
I am using:<br>
xorg-server 1.15.0<br>
xf86-input-evdev 2.8.2<br>
xf86-input-synaptics 1.7.4<br>
xf86-video-intel 2.21.15<br>
kernel 3.14.14<br>
