I think this problem more related to freebsd libc. There were a lot of changes on libc and cause many problem. Their suggestion is to reinstall everything from scratch for easy update. XCB has problem right now. What I ended up with had no problems with this. but it was pretty messy. I have since wiped the entire drive and started over. trying the way suggested. So far I am still having the same pthread error. If anyone has any ideas on this, that would be great. Most of apps/ won't build either.
