Thanks Kristian!

Unfortunately, I get all kinds of crazy artifacts when I run xcompmgr.

I have also noticed that any gecko control in an application (Firefox
browser window, Thunderbird HTML panel, etc) seems to flicker like
crazy. In Firefox's case, the tabs seem to flip back and forth
automatically.

The effects look cool until my computer completely locks up though. :)

I'll have to file a bug report.

Hi,

I have installed the new branch of Xorg and enabled the composite
extension (which loads fine).

However, I cannot seem to find anything like xcompmgr to enable cool
effects like transparency or drop shadows.

Could anyone point me in the direction of where to download/checkout
a version of xcompmgr or has there been a replacement for this type of
functionality (compositing manager I believe)?
