Error intel 82845G

Hola

Contacto con ustedes para informarles de un error que no consigo depurar 
en ubuntu. Tengo ubuntu 10.4 con el kernel 2.6.36 instalado. La tarjeta 
gráfica es /00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 
82845G/GL[Brookdale-G]/GE Chipset Integrated Graphics Device (rev 03) /. 
El problema es que de forma esporádica las X se rompen y se queda la 
pantalla en negro. Si ejecutas glxgears se obtiene rendimiento gráfico y 
todo es normal pero a la hora de cargar alguna aplicación que requiera 
rendimiento gráfico (Google Earth, Juegos, etc) no existe aceleración. 
La pantalla es un panel interno ya que es un equipo portatil (LVDS). 
Agradecería una pequeña ayuda sobre este problema. Muchisimas gracias 
por adelantado.
